Viola Latina

South American baroque

110 Minuten, eine Pause nach ca. 45 Minuten

The exceptional violist Nils Mönkemeyer, Rubén Dubrovsky and the Bach Consort Wien explore the musical continent from Argentina to Venezuela and follow the old roots of the different genres as they go. They reinterpret major pieces of past centuries with solo viola and transcriptions that resurrect the sounds of the baroque music the Spanish conquistadors took with them to South America. A programme that explores the encounter of Latin American culture with European music, of the southern hemisphere with the northern!
