Based on the smash hit film of the same name, »Priscilla – Queen of the Desert« tells of the exciting, heart-rending story of three friends from the world of drag artists who, on the search for love and friendship, set off on the journey of a lifetime across the Australian outback in a decrepit old bus called »Priscilla« – and ultimately gain more than they would ever have dared to dream of!
In 1995, the surprise hit film from Australia won the »Oscar«; for the 2006 musical version of what had then become a cult film, numerous disco classics from the 70s and 80s were added to the screenplay – from »It’s Raining Men« through »Girls Just Want to Have Fun« to »Go West«. After performances on New York's Broadway and in London's West End, the Gärtnerplatztheater now presents the multiple prize-winning jukebox musical that colourfully and flamboyantly combines depth and good spirits, for the first time in the German-speaking world.
