Peter und der Wolf

The tricks that little Peter uses to deal with the greedy wolf can be heard – and seen – in the Cuvilliés Theatre from November! Because we are staging the children's concert classic as an imaginative ballet fairy tale and also offering one or two people an insight into the exciting world of dance theatre!

Es sitzt ein Vogel auf dem Leim,
Er flattert sehr und kann nicht heim.
Ein schwarzer Kater schleicht herzu,
Die Krallen scharf, die Augen gluh.
Am Baum hinauf und immer höher
Kommt er dem armen Vogel näher.

Der Vogel denkt: Weil das so ist
Und weil mich doch der Kater frisst,
So will ich keine Zeit verlieren,
Will noch ein wenig quinquilieren
Und lustig pfeifen wie zuvor.
Der Vogel, scheint mir, hat Humor.

The bird thinks: If that's how it is, if the cat's going to eat me anyway,

It seems to me that the bird has a sense of humour.)
