24 hours in New York! What is a lifetime's dream for many becomes reality for three sailors in the middle of the Second World War. Gabey, Chip and Ozzie have a day and night to really enjoy themselves in the big city. When Gabey falls for »Miss Turnstiles« on a poster, the three set off to search for the mysterious beauty. Will the 24 hours be enough to find the sought-after girl? And will the other two find true love and happiness?
»On the Town« premiered in 1944 and was the first musical by Leonard Bernstein, just 26 at the time, to be performed on Broadway – a fast-moving, biting nautical comedy that brings to the stage the exuberantly optimistic mood of the time just before the expected victorious end to the war, full of jazzy joie de vivre, youthful freshness and lots of dancing!
