William Forsythe is not only one of the most outstanding contemporary choreographers, he has already become a legend in his own time. Before handing over artistic management of his »Forsythe Company« to Jacopo Godani in 2014, he for decades dominated the international world of dance from his home base in Frankfurt. In November 2015 he will be presenting the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz ballet in »Frankfurt Diaries« (»Fankfurter Tagebücher«), the Munich premiere of his world renowned choreography »One Flat Thing, reproduced« for 14 men and women dancers – and 20 tables, created in 2000 and later even filmed.
But that’s not all: In order to make the spirit of working with William Forsythe noticeable and to show the fruits it by now has left as imprint on the next generation the ballet director Karl Alfred Schreiner, in close collaboration with Forsythe, personally invited men and women dancers from the premiere production of »One Flat Thing, reproduced« to Munich. By now, choreographers, outfitters and graphic artists themselves, they turn, in connection with the »Frankfurt Diaries« and under the global direction of Forsythe’s long-term assistant Antony Rizzi, their entirely personal, characteristic impressions of cooperation with the choreographic genius into dance forms and make them visible for us on the stage of the Reithalle!
