Dr Fritz Hagedorn can do quite a lot, but he's never actually managed to get a job. This time, once again, his inventiveness fails to gain him the position he longs for with the Tobler Corporation in Berlin, although it does enable him to win a competition: the prize is a 14-day winter holiday including New Year's Eve celebrations in the elegant Grandhotel Bruckbeuren in the mountains. The company chairman, Herr Tobler, on the other hand, wishes to experience how people react to him when he also appears there in disguise as a poor man. But behind his back, his housekeeper tells the hotel management that the hotel is about to be visited by an anonymous millionaire. At the hotel, Hagedorn is promptly taken to be the rich man, which forms the basis for all sorts of entanglements and one or two winter flirtations!
On behalf of the Gärtnerplatztheater, the legendary chansonnier and musical cabaret artist Thomas Pigor transforms Erich Kästner's successful satirical novel from 1934 into a sparklingly whimsical revue operetta – set in the snow!
