Tamás Tarjányi
The tenor Tamás Tarjányi was born in the Hungarian town of Kecskemét. From 2003 to 2007 he studied at the University of Theatrical Arts in Budapest, and from 2007 to 2009 he also studied singing in Budapest under Magda Nádor. In 2009 he switched to the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna where he continued his education with Margit Klaushofer.
Starting while still a student, he made guest appearances at the Budapest State Opera as Tamino in »Die Zauberflöte« and was engaged for several minor roles at the Budapest Operetta Theatre. He furthermore made guest appearances at various Hungarian festivals. In 2011 he debuted with the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra and in 2012 made a guest appearance at Theater an der Wien in Vienna as Anfinomo in Monteverdi's »Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria« staged by Claus Guth and with the »Les Talens Lyriques« baroque ensemble conducted by Christoph Rousset. This production took him the same year to the Bremen Music Festival as well.
From 2012 to 2016 Tamás Tarjányi was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Bonn. There his performances included Graf Almaviva in »Il barbiere di Siviglia«, the title role in Handel's oratory »Jephta«, Flavio in »Norma« as well as Aeneas in Purcell's »Dido and Aeneas«.
From the 2016/2017 season until 2017/2018 he was a member of the solo ensemble of Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
