Sushila Sara Mai
The German-Bavarian-Indian actress Sushila Sara Mai completed her acting training at the International School for Drama & Acting in Munich. Engagements followed at the Städtische Bühnen Erding, the Staatstheater Augsburg, the touring theatre »Theater auf Tour« Darmstadt, the children’s theatre »Theater Kopfüber« in Ansbach and the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where she appeared as a guest in productions such as »Jonny spielt auf«, »Bussi ‒ Das Munical«, »Don Giovanni« and »La bohème«. She has also appeared in numerous television series such as »Kluftinger«, »Tatort«, »Das Netz ‒ Ein Wintermärchen«, »Zimmer mit Stall«, »Polizeiruf 110«, »Marie fängt Feuer«, »I don’t work here«, »Wasserpolizei Bodensee« and »Behringer und die Toten«. She can be seen as Desna Patel in the ZDF Christmas film »Alice im Weihnachtsland« and as Dr Franck in »Zum Glück gibt’s Schreiner«. She is also known to a wide audience from cinema films such as »Rehragout Rendezvous«, »Weißt Du noch?«, »Bis es mich gibt« and the film »Träume sind wie wilde Tiger«, which won the »Bavarian Television Award«. In 2017, she was a guest in the BR production »Brettl-Spitzen«, and in 2021 she was featured in a TV portrait in the format »Lebenslinien« on BR under the title »Sushila und ihre 3 Mütter«. Sushila Sara Mai also worked as a Bavarian language coach at the Staatstheater Augsburg for the production »Der Brandner Kaspar«, and she also teaches acting, piano and juggling.
