Susanne Schemschies

Susanne Schemschies has been working for many years in the cultural field. Her tasks have spanned the range from producing to project management and up to and including dramaturgy. Her artistic career has taken her to Regensburg, Nuremberg, Berlin and Vienna. She has thus worked at the City Theatre in Regensburg, Theater des Westens in Berlin and at the Bruck an der Leitha Musical Festival in Austria.

From 2004 to 2012 she worked at the St Gallen Theatre during which time she successfully ran the children's and young people's section of the theatre, worked as a music theatre dramaturge focusing on musicals and staged such plays as »Die schwarze Spinne«, »Klamms Krieg«, »Der Räuber Hotzenplotz«, »Pettersson and Findus« and »Die kleine Hexe«. Until 2014 she worked in the Department of Creative Development and Dramaturgy of Vereinigte Bühnen Wien.

Since the beginning of the 2014/2015 season Susanne Schemschies has been the director of the Young Gärtnerplatztheater at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
