Stefan Rampf
Stefan Rampf was born in Bad Tölz and received his first professional singing training with the Tölzer Knabenchor (Tölz Boys' Choir). Here, he performed as alto soloist under conductors such as Wolfgang Sawallisch, James Levine and others at the Salzburg and Munich Opera Festivals (»Die Zauberflöte«, »Tosca« and »Dido and Aeneas«) and at a concert to mark the 100th anniversary of the Berlin Philharmonic under Herbert von Karajan. He can be heard singing the alto on a ZDF recording of Bach's »Weihnachtsoratorium« conducted by Nikolaus Harnoncourt, and in several cantatas in the »Bach-Edition 2000« series.
Following his time in Bad Tölz, Stefan Rampf studied singing and singing teaching at the Munich University of Music and was a lecturer in singing at the University of Augsburg and at the Music Schools in Bad Tölz and Fürstenfeldbruck. At the moment, he regularly supports the chamber choir of the Pestalozzi Grammar School with voice training lessons.
Since 1997, Stefan Rampf has been a permanent member of the opera chorus of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, where he can also frequently be heard in solo roles, such as in the operas »Capriccio«, »Der Wildschütz«, »Der Waffenschmied«, »Idomeneo«, »Madama Butterfly« and »Peter Grimes«.
