Snejinka Avramova

Snejinka Avramova was born in Bulgaria and trained at the »Hanns Eisler« Academy of Music in Berlin. She then began her stage career at the Erfurt Municipal Theatres. Other steps on her career path were the Landestheater Eisenach, Chemnitz Theatre and the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar. Guest appearances took her to such venues as the Semperoper Dresden, Leipzig Opera and the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin. She also performed as a guest artist in Lübeck and Strasbourg as Clytemnestra (»Elektra«) and at Bayerische Staatsoper in the first performance of Aribert Reimann's »Bernarda Albas Haus«. Alongside her work on the opera stage, Snejinka Avramova has also performed successfully to concert audiences.

Since 2004, she has been the Artistic Director of the Mozart Festival in Pravec (Bulgaria), within the framework of which she produced »Così fan tutte« in summer 2003.

Snejinka Avramova was a permanent ensemble member of Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz from 1989 till 2014, where she has played such roles as the Witch (»Rusalka«), Pythia (»Melusine«), Marfa (»Chovanscina«), Mistress Quickly (»Falstaff«), Clytemnestra (»Iphigenie in Aulis«), Countess (»Der Wildschütz«), Anna (»Der Revisor«), Annina (»La traviata«), Háta (»Die verkaufte Braut«) and Katisha (»Der Mikado oder die Stadt Titipu«).

In March 2014 she was awarded the title Bayerische Kammersängerin (Bavarian Chamber Singer).
