Soloist
A native of Vienna, while still a student at the Vienna Academy and the Vienna Conservatory, she played her way through almost all genres of theatre and sang her way through almost all musical styles. She soon also began writing her own song words and worked originally for Austrian television. Since then she regularly plays in comedy formats such as »Die kranken Schwestern« or »Die liebe Familie«. After stints in Zurich, Hamburg, Berlin, at the Vienna Volksoper and the Vienna Volkstheater and Theater in der Josefstadt, she was engaged by the cabaret Simpl where she could act, sing, produce and write her first two musical revues.
In musicals, operettas and revues, Sigrid Hauser has sung from Mörbisch to Graz and from Bielefeld to St Gallen as Mary Magdalen in »Jesus Christ Superstar«, Dolly (»Hello Dolly!«), Josepha (»Im weißen Rössl«) as well as in plays like »Blutsbrüder«, »Fame«, »Die Tankstelle der Verdammten« and »Der Graf von Luxemburg«.
As an entertainer, she has by now brought three successful solo shows to the stage and writes for stage and television screen. Alongside of that, she has appeared at gala concerts and as master of ceremonies at home and abroad. She also works as a studio singer and announcer as well as an actress for film and television, such as in »Polly Adler«, »Kommissar Rex« or »Schnell ermittelt«.
At the Vienna Volksoper she was seen as the all-round talent among others in the title role of »Hello Dolly!« and in »Die spinnen, die Römer!«. At the Semperoper Dresden she made her debut as Erusine von Nepumukka in »La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein« in 2020.
At Gärtnerplatztheater she played Josepha (»Im weißen Rössl«), Erma (»Anything Goes«), Baroness Bomburst (»Chitty Chitty Bang Bang«), Clara Schlumberger (»Die Zirkusprinzessin«), Njegus (»Die lustige Witwe«), Desirée Armfeldt (»A Little Night Music«) and Mrs Calabré in the world premiere of »Drei Männer im Schnee«.
