Sascha Stead

Sascha Stead received his training at Dr. Hoch's Conservatory – Music Academy in Frankfurt am Main and at the University of Music and the Performing Arts, Frankfurt. His training was supplemented by lessons and coaching from Aixa Vosberg, Danuta Dulska, Dagmar Bunde and Susanne Brederhöft.

Various engagements have taken him to the Bad Hersfeld Festival, the theatres in Koblenz and Bielefeld, Cologne Opera, the Saarland State Theatre, the Braunschweig State Theatre and the Theatre on the Bay in Cape Town, among others. He has played such roles as Ajax 1 (»Die schöne Helena«), Riff (»West Side Story«), Petruccio (»Kiss me, Kate«), Master of Ceremonies (»Cabaret«), the Beast (»Die Schöne und das Biest«) and Jamie (»Die letzten 5 Jahre«).

He received the Durban Mercury Theatre Award in 2012 for his interpretation of the Master of Ceremonies in »Cabaret« in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town. He was also nominated for the Fleur du Cap Award in 2013.
