Dancer
Roberta Pisu
The Italian dancer Roberta Pisu trained at the Académie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace in Monte Carlo and the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome, frequently appearing on stage as a soloist in its productions (including »Amor 2008« by Adriana Boriello). A bursary from Mauro Astolfi allowed her to explore contemporary forms of expression in ballet in greater depth. In 2008, she was admitted to the La Compagnia dance ensemble in Rome, where she worked with choreographers such as Jacopo Godani, Robin Orlin, Wayne McGregor and Pina Bausch.
She was able to gain choreographic experience in particular as assistant to Ismael Ivo, the Artistic Director of the Biennale di Venezia, in 2010. Her own choreographies, including »Parksicht Hotel«, have been performed in cities such as Rome and Spoleto. In 2012 she danced for »Liens et lieux, danse contemporaine marginale» in Montréal/Quebec, and in 2013 she was taken on in the ballet ensemble of Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where she also choreographed »Minutemade«, »Sparks«, »Je suis Faust«, »Momo« and »Frida Kahlo« among others. As a freelance choreographer, she has created several works in collaboration with the Munich Arcis Saxophone Quartet since 2020.
