René Pape

René Pape performs in all major opera houses and concert halls worldwide. A member of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin ensemble since 1988, he has sung the great roles of his fach, such as Méphistophélès (»Faust«), Filippo II. (»Don Carlo«), Rocco (»Fidelio«),

Gurnemanz (»Parsifal«), King Marke (»Tristan und Isolde«), Wotan (»Das Rheingold«, »Die Walküre«) and »Boris Godunow«. He has made guest appearances at the Salzburg and Bayreuth Festivals, the festivals in Glyndebourne, Verona and Aix-en-Provence, at the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, the Bavarian State Opera and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. In addition, the two-time »Grammy Award«-winner devotes himself to intensive concert activities, and numerous radio, television and CD/DVD productions document his interpretations. René Pape is a Bavarian, Berlin and Austrian Kammersänger.
