Regina Schörg
Regina Schörg was born in Vienna, where she graduated with honours from the Vienna Conservatory Opera School. Her first engagements took her to the Landestheater Linz and the Vienna Volksoper and State Opera. Her international breakthrough came there in 1999 as Princesse Eudoxie in Halévy’s »La Juive«. This was followed by roles such as Konstanze (»Die Entführung aus dem Serail«), Countess (»Le nozze di Figaro«), Violetta (»La traviata«), Hanna Glawari (»Die lustige Witwe«), Rosalinde (»Die Fledermaus«) as well as title roles such as Lucia di Lammermoor and Luisa Miller under conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Bertrand DeBilly, Kirill Petrenko, Riccardo Muti and Simone Young. She has worked with directors such as Robert Carsen, Christine Mielitz and Harry Kupfer.
In 2013, she switched to character roles and has since interpreted Marcellina (»Le nozze di Figaro«) and Prince Orlofsky (»Die Fledermaus«), Mirabella (»Der Zigeunerbaron«), Stasa Kokozowa (»Der Graf von Luxemburg«), Audrey II. (»Little Shop of Horrors«), Mrs Kramer (»One Touch of Venus«) and Paula (»Das Feuerwerk«), among others. Her work as a director (»Wiener Blut«, »Der Bettelstudent«, »Little Shop of Horrors«, »Hänsel und Gretel«), a »Grammy Award« and seven opera recordings round off her career.
She is a member of the Gärtnerplatztheater ensemble in the 2023/2024 season.
