Raphael Kurig

The video and light artist Raphael Kurig studied Film & Animation in Munich and Los Angeles. Since 2010, he has headed the video department of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. In this capacity, he and his team have realised numerous video designs for operas, ballets, operettas, musicals and other events. He has also worked for the Semperoper Dresden, the Cologne Opera, the Carl Orff Festival Andechs and the St. Gallen Theatre, among others. With the company WE ARE VIDEO, which he co-founded in 2020, he also designs video and light art projects outside the theatre format.
