Pietro Numico

Pietro Numico studied piano and choral conducting in Cuneo, Bergamo (Italy) and at the Hochschule für Musik »Franz Liszt« in Weimar. In 2011 he conducted a concert by the Young Vocal Ensemble Hannover at the »chor.com« festival of the German Choral Association. He also conducted various choirs in Italy and gained experience as a choral singer (Coro filarmonico »Ruggero Maghini« Turin, »I Vocalisti« Hamburg). Since 2012 he has worked as conductor and arranger in the project »Folkestra e Folkoro« (Turin) and since 2005 as pianist and arranger of the band »Abnoba«, with whom he has recorded two CDs. Between 2016 and 2018 he worked as choir assistant and director of the children’s and youth choir at the Chemnitz Theatre. In 2018, he was engaged as deputy choral director at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, and since the 2022/2023 season, he is choral director and rehearsed numerous challenging choral parts with his ensemble, for example »Tosca«, »Die Zauberflöte«, »The Rake’s Progress«, »Rigoletto«, »Hoffmanns Erzählungen« oder »Die lustige Witwe«.
