Peter Hörtner

Austrian-born Peter Hörtner began his career in the 1990s at the Schauspielhaus Graz under the aegis of Reinhard Traub. In 2001, after a three-month tour of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, his path led him to the Landestheater Coburg, where he oversaw over 100 productions, including the German premiere of »Kiss oft he Spider Woman«. Further stations were the Staatsoper Hannover, the Volkstheater München and the Stiftung Staatstheater Augsburg, where he worked with Jörg Mannes, Nils Christe, Tobias Ribitzki, Alexander Charim, Martin G. Berger, André Bücker, Dieter Gackstetter, Detlef Altenbeck, Mike Salomon, Aron Stiehl, Christian Stückl and Christoph Schlingensief, among others. In the

In 2020, he was hired as a lighting inspector at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where he is currently deputy head of the lighting department and has been responsible for the lighting in productions such as »Undine«, »Nunsens«, »Mozart muss sterben«, »Werther« and »Le nozze di Figaro«.
