Training Director
Patrick Teschner
A native of Munich, Patrick Teschner completed his dancing education at the Ballet Academy of his home city. In 1988 he received the incentive prize of the Capital City of Munich. After getting his degree, there followed an engagement with the Bavarian State Ballet where he was appointed soloist in 1993 and danced in choreographies, including those of Ray Barra, Lucinda Childs, John Cranko, William Forsythe, Jacopo Godani, Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, John Neumeier, Hans van Manen and Peter Wright. In 1994 he received the incentive prize for performing arts of the Free State of Bavaria as a dancer and choreographer.
Since 2005 he has worked as a freelance training director at, among others, the Stuttgart Ballet, with the Forsythe Company in Frankfurt, at the Ballet de l'Opéra de Lyon, at the Compañia Nacional de Danza in Spain, at the Ballet de l'Opéra du Rhin, at the Greek National Ballet, the Slovenian National Ballet, the Ballet at Hanover State Theatre and at the Ballet of Wiesbaden State Theatre.
In 2007 he came to Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz as training director and assistant. He was assistant in charge of works by William Forsythe, Christian Spuck, Hans Henning Paar, Marco Goecke, Rui Horta and Fernando Melo. In 2011, he rehearsed Christian Spuck's »Sleepers Chamber« at the Dortmund Ballet.
