Otto Jaus
Otto Jaus was born in Vienna and began his education in singing at the age of nine with the Vienna Choir Boys where he was taught until 1999. In 2003 he began his four-year training as a tenor at the Conservatory of the City of Vienna. Two years later he won a one-semester scholarship at the WestLB Musical Summer Academy in Krickenbeck for the Royal Academy of Music in London under the direction of Mary Hammond and Karen Rabinowitz. During his training he attended several maestro classes, including with Scott Alan, Hermann van Veen, Matt Ryan, Angelika Kirchschlager, Frank Wildhorn and Bobby McFerrin.
After completing his training, Otto Jaus worked, among others, in »Jesus Christ Superstar« and in »Die Dreigroschenoper« at Klagenfurt City Theatre. For several years now he has also been a member of the Simpl cabaret ensemble in Vienna. At the Amstetten Musical Summer in 2010 he played the role of Jerry Lukowski in »The Full Monty«. In addition, he opened the Elton John and Ray Cooper concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
In 2012, Otto Jaus performed at Graz Opera in the musical »Fame« and in 2012 and 2013 was on stage, together with Elke Winkens and Nina Hartmann, in »Ein ungleiches Paar« at the Berndorf Festival. He additionally took part in 2012 in »Der Hofnarr« at Filmhof WEIN4TEL (Asparn), a production which was taken up again in early 2014 at Vienna's Metropol Theatre. In January 2014, Otto Jaus presented his own cabaret programme for the first time: »Fast fertig - Ein musikalischer Amoklauf« at the Simpl cabaret.
At the Gärtnerplatztheater he played Toni Schlumberger in »Die Zirkusprinzessin«.
