Oliver Floris

Oliver Floris completed his musical training at the August Everding Theatre Academy in Munich. He took tap dancing lessons at the age of nine and was able to gain his first stage experience at the Landestheater Coburg even before he began his studies. There he appeared in »Crazy for You« and in the German-language premiere of »Curtains«. This was followed by engagements at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz (»Jesus Christ Superstar«, staged by Josef E. Köpplinger) and the Salzburg Landestheater (»The Sound of Music«, directed by Andreas Gergen, Christian Struppeck). After »The Drowsy Chaperone« (director: Stefan Huber), where he took on the role of Feldzieg, he then appeared as Baker in Stephen Sondheim’s »Into the Woods« at the Deutsches Theater München. In the 2016/2017 season, he embodied the title role of Emanuel Schikaneder in the world premiere of »Schikaneder« (directed by Sir Trevor Nunn) at the Raimundtheater of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, in addition to his ensemble position. He then appeared in the Stuttgart and Hamburg Stage Entertainment productions of »Mary Poppins« as, among others, the chimney sweep Bert. In 2019, he took on the lead role of Axel Staudach in »Ich war noch niemals in New York« (directed by Werner Bauer) at the Thunerseespielen in Switzerland, in addition to his position in the ensemble.

In the 2019/2020 season, Oliver Floris was seen as Freddy Eynsford-Hill in »My Fair Lady« (director: Andreas Gergen) at the Salzburg Landestheater. He then played Jim in »Der Schuh des Manitu« (director: Andreas Gergen) at the Deutsches Theater München and at the Salzburg Landestheater. Most recently he appeared in the concert performance of »Elisabeth«, produced by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, in front of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna. At Gärtnerplatz, Oliver Floris was last seen in 2022 as Inventor in »Chitty Chitty Bang Bang«.
