Mikaël Champs

Mikaël Champs was born in Tahiti and trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School. He then danced with the Leipzig Ballet under Paul Chalmer, the Ballet Nice Méditerranée under Éric Vu-An and the Víctor Ullate Ballet in Madrid under the direction of the founder. In 2017‒2018 he was a company member in the ballet of the Staatstheater Cottbus under Dirk Neumann, in 2018‒2019 in the Tanzcompany Innsbruck and in 2020‒2022 in the ballet of the Theater St. Gallen. He has danced in choreographies by George Balanchine, Mauro Bigonzetti, Lucinda Childs, John Cranko, Nacho Duato, Marco Goecke, Jiří Kylián, Birgit Scherzer, Uwe Scholz, Víctor Ullate and Youri Vàmos, among others. In 2019 he took part in the Summer Intensive of the Nederlands Dans Theater. He has been a member of the ballet company of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz since the 2022/2023 season.
