Matthew Jared Perko

Matthew Jared Perko began his training at the Rock School West in West Chester, Pennsylvania. He later attended the Glorya Kaufman School of Dance at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles on an excellence scholarship, where he studied with William Forsythe and Jodie Gates, among others. He also participated in the New York City Dance Alliance’s winter dance classes under the direction of Alexandra Damiani and completed summer training at Jacobs Pillow (inaugural contemporary ballet programme) and Nederlands Dans Theater Den Haag, where he performed in the world premiere of Marne van Opstal's Touch Base and in works by Marco Goecke and Crystal Pite. In March 2021, he was a principal dancer with Zikr Dance Ensemble in Denver before graduating Magna Cum Laude from USC with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. He then became a member of the ballet ensemble of the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg. He has been part of the ballet corps of the Gärtnerplatztheater since the 2022/2023 season.
