Matteo Carvone

Matteo Carvone was born in Trieste in Italy and trained at the Conservatoire there and at MAS and the Accademia Danza Pier Lombardo in Milan. In 2007, he graduated with distinction and then danced in Susanna Beltrami's company.

In 2008, he worked for La Compagnia dellʼAccademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome under Pina Bausch, where he also came across choreographers such as Jacopo Godani, Robyn Orlin, Wayne McGregor, Ismael Ivo and Malou Airaudo. In 2009 he founded his own dance ensemble, Labor Kraft, and appeared as a guest at international festivals, competitions and galas. From 2010 he worked as a freelance dancer mainly in the Netherlands, including engagements with DWA in Amsterdam and Random Collision in Groningen.

In 2011, he appeared in Karl Alfred Schreinerʼs »Der Nussknacker« at Stadttheater Klagenfurt and he has been a member of the ballet of Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz from 2012 until 2017, where he created the choreography for the MUT-Autorenwettbewerb 2018.
