Marco Filippo Romano

The Italian baritone Marco Filippo Romano studied at the »Vincenzo Bellini« Conservatory in Palermo and is the winner of several international competitions, including the Concorso »Franco Alfano« and the »Voci del Mediterraneo« competition in Siracusa.

With a broad repertoire covering roles such as Robinson (»Il matrimonio segreto«), Don Alfonso (»Così fan tutte«), Barone di Trombonok (»Il viaggio a Reims«), Taddeo (»L’italiana in Algeri«) and Belcore (»L’elisir d’amore«), the young singer has appeared at venues such as the Valletta Opera Festival in Malta, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro Real Madrid, the Teatro Comunale Bologna and in Piacenza, Oviedo and at the Bayerische Staatsoper.

One of his most brilliant roles is that of Bartolo (»Il barbiere di Siviglia«), which he has sung at the Teatro Comunale in Florence, the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Teatro Chiabrera Savona and in Lucca, Rovigo, Bergamo, Pescara, Malta, Manila and the Norwegian Opera.

In addition, he has appeared as Don Gregorio in Carlo Pedrotti's »Tutti in maschera« in Savona, Piacenza and the Wexford Festival (Ireland) and as Don Magnifico (»La Cenerentola«) in Como, Lecco and Bologna. At the Teatro Municipale Piacenza and the Rossini Opera Festival, he appeared as Don Profondo (»Il viaggio a Reims«).
