Kenneth Cazan
After starting out as a professional actor, singer and dancer, Kenneth Cazan finally moved into directing. He has directed more than 160 productions in the areas of opera, musicals and drama and worked for more than fifty opera houses and drama venues in America, Canada, Mexico and Europe. The high points of his activities to date as a director in the USA have included the production of Mozart's »Mitridate, re di Ponto« at the Saint Louis Opera House, Handel's »Agrippina« for the Fort Worth Opera Festival and the first American production of Britten's »Gloriana« for the Central City Opera, where he also brought Britten's »The Prodigal Son« to the stage in 2015.
Kenneth Cazan holds a professorship in the department of »Vocal Arts and Opera Programs« at the Thornton School of Music (University of Southern California), where he also works as director in residence. In addition, Kenneth Cazan was the co-librettist for the opera »Frau Schindler« by Thomas Morse, and is responsible for its first staged performance at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
