Stage design
Julia Müer
Julia Müer studied stage and costume design at the Dresden Academy for Fine Arts and completed a two-year master's course in 2005. In 2005 she was granted a scholarship by the Hellerau European Centre for the Arts and was awarded 2nd prize in the European Opera Directing Prize in 2007. She was also a finalist in the Ring Award in Graz.
She has worked at such venues as the Opera in Malmö (»Vanessa«), the Hungarian State Opera Budapest (»Der Rosenkavalier«), Klagenfurt City Theatre (»Silvester»), the Frankfurt Opera (»Murder in the Cathedral« and »Barabbas Dialogues«), the Folkoperan Stockholm (»Madama Butterfly«) and the Semperoper Dresden (»Faust«). Most recently, she designed the stage sets for »La bohème« for the Dortmund Opera, the sets and costumes for the Frankfurt Opera's production of »Vanessa« and the sets and costumes for »Albert Herring« at the Royal Opera Copenhagen.
During this time, Julia Müer has worked with directors such as Katharina Thoma, Josef E. Köpplinger and Keith Warner.
