Soloist
Jogi Kaiser
In 2023, the native of Mainz celebrates his 30th anniversary on stage. In 1993 he played his first musical role in Münster: Lee Harvey Oswald in »JFK ‒ The Rock Opera«. From then on, Jogi Kaiser, who until then had been a rock singer in various bands, had a new passion: singing combined with acting. And since this can best be combined in the genre of musicals, engagements followed, among others, at the Saarland State Theatre in Saarbrücken as Riff-Raff in »The Rocky Horror Show« or as Amtmann Falk in the Hamburg cult musical »Pico«. But pure spoken theatre is also one of his fields of activity, and so he had a permanent engagement at the Wolfgang Borchert Theatre in Münster, played Sam Hawkens for five seasons at the Karl May Festival in Elspe and made regular guest appearances at the Ohnsorg Theatre in his adopted home of Hamburg, where he played in »Wi rockt op platt«, among others. In Hamburg he also appeared in the Stage Entertainment musicals »Rocky« (as trainer Mickey) and »Das Wunder von Bern« (as the Swiss cleaning lady). Film director Sönke Wortmann saw him there and cast him in his 2017 feature film »Sommerfest« in the role of the Ruhrpott original Karl-Heinz-Rugowski. Jogi Kaiser can also be seen regularly on television in productions such as »Großstadtrevier«, »Morden im Norden« and »Tatort«. He recently appeared in the musical »Heiße Ecke« at the Schmidt Theatre in Hamburg, at the Karl May Festival in Bad Segeberg and at the St. Gallen Theatre in »Wüstenblume« and »Lady Bess«.
