Joel Distefano

Australian dancer Joel Distefano trained at the Victorian College of the Arts and the Australian Ballet School. Guest engagements have taken him to the Australian Ballet and the Australian Ballet’s Dancers Company Tour. From 2012 to 2016 he was a member of the Augsburg Ballet Company. Here he danced in pieces such as »Radio and Juliet« by Edward Clug, »Or« by Itzik Galili and »Chimera« by Douglas Lee. In the 2016/2017 season he became a permanent ensemble member at the Staatstheater Nürnberg, where he danced in choreographies by Hofesh Shechter, Goyo Montero, Marco Goecke, Mauro Bigonzetti and Jeroen Verbruggen, among others. He has been part of the ensemble of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz since 2019.
