Ivan Turšić

Ivan Turšić was born in Zagreb/Croatia, first studied civil engineering and graduated as an engineer. He began his vocal training with Noni Žunec. He studied at the Zagreb Academy of Music from 2000. During his training, he performed on stage at the Zagreb National Theatre. In 2003, he continued his vocal studies with Dunja Vejzović at the University of Music in Stuttgart and graduated with honours in 2007. He attended masterclasses and coaching sessions with Richard Miller, Francisco Araiza, Jack LiVigni, Júlia Hamari, Konrad Richter and Christina Domnick, among others, and performed at the Junge Oper and on the stage of the Stuttgart State Opera. From 2007‒2015 he was a member of the Hanover State Opera ensemble. Since the 2015/2016 season, he has been engaged at the Komische Oper Berlin. Guest engagements have taken him to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, the Opéra Comique in Paris, the Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, the Basel Theatre, the Erkel Theatre Budapest, Bremen, Geneva, Dessau, Kassel and Krefeld/Mönchengladbach as well as to China (Beijing, Xiamen, Guangzhou), Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima), Australia (Perth, Adelaide) and New Zealand (Auckland).

Ivan Turšić is also active in the concert, song and oratorio repertoire. He has performed at various festivals, including the BBC Proms (London), the George Enescu Festival Bucharest, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival and the Zagreb Music Biennale.
