Holger Ohlmann
Holger Ohlmann was born in Neustadt/Aisch in Bavaria and grew up in Germany and Canada. He was a member of the Opera School of the University of Music in Munich, where he was involved in many opera productions. After graduating in 1995, he was taken directly into the ensemble of Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz where he has played many different roles, including Figaro (»Le nozze di Figaro«), Anzoletto (»Der Campiello«), Pistol (»Falstaff«), Arnold (»Die Englische Katze«), Majakowski (»Majakowskis Tod«), Frank (»Die Fledermaus«), Sarastro (»Die Zauberflöte«), Leporello (»Don Giovanni«) and Plumkett (»Martha«).
He has appeared most recently in such roles as the Pirate King (»Die Piraten von Penzance«), Trinity Moses (»Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny«), the title role of Telemann's »Der geduldige Socrates«, the Cook (»Die Liebe zu den drei Orangen«), Kecal (»Die verkaufte Braut«), Pooh-Bah (»Der Mikado oder die Stadt Titipu«), Háraschta (»Das schlaue Füchslein«), Major von Schweinitz (»Der Bettelstudent«), Composer / Monsignore Campanile (»Onkel Präsident«), Cadmus (»Semele«), Mokula (»Der Flaschengeist«), the King of Egypt (»Aida«), Ned Keene (»Peter Grimes«), Don Alfonso (»Così fan tutte«), Alidoro (»La Cenerentola«) and Herr Pitzelberger (»Salon Pitzelberger«).
In addition, Holger Ohlmann is a much sought-after recitalist and oratorio singer at home and abroad. Because of his many years of artistic activity at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, he was awarded the title Bayerischer Kammersänger (Bavarian Chamber Singer) in December 2019 by Bernd Sibler, Bavarian State Minister for Science and Art.
