Harald Hofbauer

Harald Hofbauer, who lives in Berlin, studied drama and singing in Vienna. After his initial engagements at the Volkstheater in Vienna, the Theater der Jugend, the Kabarett Simpl and a number of alternative theatres, he was engaged as an operetta soloist at Vienna's Raimund Theater for three years.

He played leading roles in musicals such as »West Side Story«, »Jesus Christ Superstar«, »Phantom der Oper«, »Evita«, »Cabaret«, »Elisabeth«, »Der Kuss der Spinnenfrau«, »La Cage aux Folles«, »Victor/Victoria«, »The Rocky Horror Show«, »Blutsbrüder«, among other places, in Regensburg, Schwäbisch Hall, Berne, Dresden, Hildesheim, Augsburg, the Vereinigte Bühne Wien and the Musical-Festival in Bruck/Leitha. He also gained film experience in an episode of »Tatort« and a James-Bond production.

In Vienna, Harald Hofbauer also appeared at the Ronacher in »Sie liebt mich« and at the Akzent Theater in »Sweeney Todd«. In Berlin and Munich, he played the title role in the first performance of the musical »Schwejk it easy«. He also played Falco in »Falco meets Amadeus« in Oberhausen and in the Berlin Theater des Westens, and Thénardier in »Les Misérables« at Oper Graz and the Stadttheater Klagenfurt.
