Gabi Rothmüller
The director, actress, cabaret artist and author Gabi Rothmüller was born in Landshut. She has performed at the Stadttheater Augsburg, the Theater Erlangen, the Badische Landesbühne Bruchsal, the Modern Theatre Munich, the Studiotheater Munich and as an ensemble member at the Münchner Lustspielhaus and in the Müller-Truppe Munich. As a director, she has staged interdisciplinary productions including at the Oldenburg State Theatre (»Orphée aux enfers«), in Vienna (»Der Watzmann ruft« with Wolfgang Ambros, Manfred Tauchen and Hubert von Goisern, »Die Tankstelle der Verdammten«), in Brixen/South Tyrol (»Die Räuberinnen«, »Die Tür mit den sieben Schlössern« based on Edgar Wallace, »Wagners Ring«, »Die Dreigroschenoper«, »Die drei Musketiere«, »Grand Budapest Hotel« and others), at the Tollwood-Festival in Munich (»Der verkaufte Großvater«) and regularly at the Münchner Lustspielhaus (»Der Watzmann ruft«, »Wilhelm Tell«, »Noises Off«, »Siegfried ‒ A Germanical«, »Bonnie & Clyde. The Really True Story« and others).
As a television director, Gabi Rothmüller worked on »Die Komiker« for Bayerischer Rundfunk. She has also directed cabaret programmes by Ottfried Fischer, Wolfgang Ambros, Manfred Tauchen, Helmut Schleich, Andreas Giebel, Pigor & Eichhorn and Queen B, Michael Altinger, Altinger and Liegl, College of Hearts (Berlin), Missfits, Thomas Quasthoff and Michael Frowin, Lukas Lobis and Thomas Hochkofler, Constanze Lindner, Ludwig Müller, Hosea Ratschiller, Andreas Rebers and Christof Spörk. She also taught at the Summer Academy for Bavarian Folk Drama in 2003 and 2008.
