Frank-Oliver Weißmann

Frank-Oliver Weißmann comes from the Allgäu region and, after private singing lessons with Paul Kuen, trained as a singing teacher with Erika Schmitt-Valentin at the vocational school for music in Krumbach before moving to the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg. Here he completed five years of vocal studies with Lieselotte Becker-Egner and was awarded a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Foundation in 1992.

Even before his state entrance examination, he was engaged as 2nd bass in the choir of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where he has been a member since 1994. In addition to numerous concert appearances, Frank-Oliver Weißmann is a member of various jazz formations in which he performs as a singer and saxophonist. He is also a member of the vocal ensemble »Die Gärtnerplatz Harmonists«, which has set itself the task of emulating the Comedian Harmonists.

He has been known as a yodeller since his childhood under the stage name »Frank Oliver«.
