Florian Hackspiel

Florian Hackspiel, born in Innsbruck, completed his acting studies at the University of Arts in Graz in 2007 and has since worked as an actor and director in spoken and musical theatre throughout the German-speaking world.

Engagements as a performer have taken him to the following venues, among others at the following venues: Philharmonie Berlin, Isarphilharmonie Munich, Junges Schauspiel Ensemble Munich, Ensemble Persona Munich, Brecht Festival Augsburg, Wuppertaler Bühnen, Landestheater Schwaben, Thüringer Schlossfestspiele, Festspiele Wangen, Theater Effingerstraße Bern, Schauspielhaus Graz, Landestheater Linz, Phönix Linz, Tiroler Landestheater, Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck, Theater Drachengasse Wien, Dschungel Wien, TAG Wien, Alma Mahler KG, Schlüterwerke Wien, Theater Schwechat/Vienna, Schlossspiele Kobersdorf, Tonkünstlerorchester Niederösterreich, Philharmonie Luxemburg and Kaleidoskop Luxemburg.

As a director, Florian Hackspiel has directed more than 40 plays and music theatre productions in Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Munich, Augsburg, Hanover, Bochum, Wangen im Allgäu, Überlingen, Nordhausen, Berlin and Luxembourg. As a playwright, he has written his own plays, retranslated Donizetti’s opera »Viva la mamma« and written a new dialogue version for Bizet’s »Carmen«. He is also the founder of the Theater Melone Innsbruck and winner of the Arthur Haidl Prize of the City of Innsbruck 2006.

He made his debut at the Gärtnerplatztheater in 2015 as a performer in the world premiere of »Gefährliche Liebschaften«. Since the 2022/2023 season, he has been under contract here as an assistant director.
