Dancer
Ethan Ribeiro began dancing at the age of nine in Kitchener, Ontario, and enrolled at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School in Canada at the age of fifteen. The 2019 graduation was followed by a post-secondary dance programme by Arts Umbrella under the direction of Artemis Gordon. There, Ethan Ribeiro danced in works by Marco Goecke, Nacho Duato, Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar and worked with choreographers such as Crystal Pite, Lukas Timulak, Lesley Telford, Victor Quijada and David Raymond. In his second year at Arts Umbrella, Ethan Ribeiro was awarded the McCall MacBain Cultural Leadership Scholarship. The training was followed by an engagement with Ballet BC in 2021/2022, with performances in choreographies by Ethan Colangelo, David Raymond, Tiffany Tregarthen, Out Innerspace and Medhi Walerksi. In the 2022/2023 season, Ethan Ribeiro was a permanent ensemble member of the Fresco Dance Company in Tel Aviv, Israel, and since the 2023/2024 season has been a member of the ballet company at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
