Eric Rentmeister

Directly after getting his degree in acting, singing and dance at Folkwang College in Essen, Eric Rentmeister was recruited in 2004 by Vincent Paterson as master of ceremonies for the musical »Cabaret« at Berlin’s Bar Jeder Vernunft where he could be seen in more than 500 performances. Thereafter he made guest appearances, among others at Staatstheater Hanover, Karlsruhe and Nuremberg. He played musical roles like Harry Frommermann (»Comedian Harmonists«), Stollentroll (»Die 13 ½ Leben des Käpt’n Blaubär«) and Riff (»West Side Story«). As an actor he appeared in plays like the soloist drama »Page One« by Johannes Kram and in the production »Eagle to Hawk« at the Consol Theatre in Gelsenkirchen which was awarded the jury and audience prize at the »West Wind Festival« in 2011 and has made guest appearances in Wales, Belgrade and Zagreb.

Beyond that Eric Rentmeister has choreographed musicals like »Evita«, »The Rocky Horror Show«, »Spamalot« and »Spring Awakening« and has regularly been director at the West German Tour Theatre of Remscheid. He is the cofounder of the »Brachland Ensemble« and develops new projects with them. In Osnabrück and Essen he teaches musical students and is in addition a certified teacher for Alexander Technique at Alexander Technique International. In 2017 he appeared as Cardinal Richelieu at the Open Air Theatre Festival in Altusried in the musical »Three Musketeers« and was also in charge of its choreography. In Gelsenkirchen he was playing in world premieres of Roland Schimmelpfennig und Nino Haratischwili.
