Enrico De Pieri

Born in Kiel, Enrico De Pieri studied song and oratorio with James Wagner at Hamburg University of Music and Drama from 1997 to 2005. He received grants from such bodies as the International Vocal Arts Institute and the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Foundation. While still a student, he had already appeared in roles such as Figaro in »Le nozze di Figaro«, Orpheus in »Orpheus und Eurydike«, Hans Scholl in »Die weiße Rose« and Sancho Panza in »Der Mann von La Mancha«. From 2006 to 2008 he played the role of Porthos in the musical »3 Musketiere« in the Apollo Theatre in Stuttgart and in 2010 at the Tecklenburg Open-Air Festival.

Since 2003, he has also devoted himself increasingly to his teaching work as a singing coach and as a lecturer at the Joop van den Ende Academy in Hamburg. Additionally, he was also appointed to the teaching staff of the University of Osnabrück in 2010. In 2009, he performed in Kiel in the musical »Sekretärinnen« and in »Der kleine Horrorladen«. In addition, he was the compere in 2011, 2013 and 2015 of the Kiel Opera Ball. In 2011 and 2012 he appeared in Hape Kerkeling's musical »Kein Pardon« in the main role of Peter Schlönzke. Further engagements have taken him to Merzig and Bremen as Uncle Fester in the first German-language performance of »The Addams Family«.
