Elissa Huber
In 2010, Elissa Huber made her stage debut in the musical genre at the Deutsches Theater München as Maureen in »Rent«. Further engagements took her to the Operettenhaus Hamburg as La Rosa (»Sister Act«) and to Theatre 11 Zurich as Lisa Wartberg (»Ich war noch niemals in New York«) as well as on tour throughout Europe as Ludovika and Frau Wolf (»Elisabeth«).
In 2013, she switched to classical soprano and completed her master’s degree in music, performance and singing with Jane Thorner-Mengedoht at the Zurich University of the Arts in 2015. She then joined the opera studio at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, where she made her operatic debut as the First Lady in »Die Zauberflöte« under the direction of Peter Stein and the musical direction of Adam Fischer. In 2016, she was awarded 3rd place at the German National Singing Competition and the special prize for the best performance of a contemporary composition. She then made her debut at the Theatre for Lower Saxony as Agathe in »Der Freischütz«.
Until 2019, she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Konzert Theater Bern, where her roles included Donna Anna (»Don Giovanni«), Fiordiligi (»Così fan tutte«) and Micaëla (»Carmen«). She made her debut in Vienna as Sylva Varescu (»Die Csárdásfürstin«) at the Volksoper and appeared as Lisa (»Das Land des Lächelns«) at the Seefestspiele Mörbisch in 2019. She has also sung roles including Rosalinde (»Die Fledermaus«) at the Graz Opera, Kate (»Kiss me, Kate«) at the Vienna Volksoper, Donna Elvira (»Don Giovanni«) at the Frankfurt Opera, Emilia Marty (»Věc Makropulos«) and the title role in the opera »Anna Nicole« by Marc Turnage at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Hanna Glawari (»Die lustige Witwe«) at the Cologne Opera and Agathe at the Bregenz Festival.
