Eduard Wildner
Eduard Wildner received his education in drama and voice in Graz, Vienna and Berlin. Among other venues, he played in the Schiller Theatre in Berlin, at the Schauspielhaus in Zurich, in Theater am Neumarkt in Zurich, at the Renaissance Theatre in Berlin, at the Hamburg Chamber Playhouse, at Vienna Volkstheater, at the Graz Playhouse, at Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna, in Theater an der Wien, at the Klagenfurt Municipal Theatre, at the Joint Stages in Bolzano, at the Phoenix Theatre and Provincial Theatre in Linz, at the Playhouse in Vienna under Hans Gratzer, at the Reichenau Festival, at the Salzburg Festival, at the Summer Festival in Perchtolsdorf and at the Gutenstein Raimund Performances. In addition, he regularly appears in readings as well as in film and television programmes, including »Tatort«, »Die Donauprinzessin«, »Polizeiruf 110«, »Schloßhotel Orth«, »Kommissar Rex«, »Todespolka«, and »Die Seelen im Feuer«. In 2017 he was nominated for »best actor« for the »Nestroy« Austrian Theatre Award for his role as Habakuk in »Der Alpenkönig und der Menschenfeind«. He made his debut at the Gärtnerplatztheater in 2019 as the porter Polter in the world premiere of »Drei Männer im Schnee«. He last played leading roles in Daniel Glattauer’s »Die Wunderübung« at the theatre festival in Uderns/Tyrol in 2021, in Raimund’s »Die gefesselte Phantasie« (directed by Achim Freyer) at the Raimundspiele Gutenstein in 2022 and in Peter Turrini’s »Es muss geschieden sein«, also at the Raimundspiele Gutenstein, in 2023 ‒ the year of his 53rd stage anniversary.
