Dirk Lüdemann

Dirk Lüdemann was born in Düsseldorf and initially studied saxophone at the Cologne Academy of Music before studying singing at the Robert Schumann University of Düsseldorf, from which he graduated in 1991. An initial engagement took him to the opera chorus of the Würzburg City Theatre for a season.

Following this, he appeared as a guest in such roles as Monostatos (»Die Zauberflöte«) and Wenzel (»Die verkaufte Braut«) at the Wuppertal Theatres, in the first performance of Schnittke's »Das Leben eines Idioten« at the Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen and as Benozzo (»Gasparone«) at the Eduard von Winterstein Theatre Annaberg Buchholz.

He has also appeared many times in oratorios (in roles including Uriel and the Evangelist in Bach's »Weihnachtsoratorium«).

Dirk Lüdemann has sung 2nd tenor in the chorus of Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz since 1994.
