David Jakobs obtained his degree in singing, drama and dance from the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen in 2011. He gained his first experience in musicals when he was just 12 years old, as Gavroche in the first German performance of »Les Misérables« at the Musiktheater Duisburg. After graduating, he appeared as a guest performer at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus as an actor and singer in various productions and also played Jerry Lukowski (»The Full Monty«) at Theater Dortmund, Claude (»Hair«) at Landestheater Detmold, various roles in The Who's »Tommy« at Theater Bielefeld and Judas (»Jesus Christ Superstar«) in the Bremerhaven City Theatre and Bonn Opera House.

He made his début at the Gärtnerplatztheater in 2014 as Boris in the first continental performance of »Tschitti Tschitti Bäng Bäng«, before taking on the role of Bruno Lubanski in the premiere of »Das Wunder von Bern«, for which he was awarded the German Musical Theatre Prize as »Best Male Supporting Actor« in 2015.
