Solo Coach and conductor
Darijan Ivezić
Darijan Ivezić studied at the Academy of Music in Zagreb where he received his degree in conducting in 2014. As early as during his studies he gained experience as a choir director and was, among other things, active as assistant in the opera productions »Carmen« and Stravinsky’s »Le Rossignol«, whose performance he also conducted in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall. In 2015 he was recruited to the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb as a coach where he became director of studies in 2017. After 2016 he additionally worked as an assistant in the subjects of conducting, harp and percussion at the Academy of Music in Zagreb and made his debut the same year with the symphony orchestra of Croatian Radio. As assistant to artists like Nikša Bareza, Elio Boncompagni, Loris Voltolini and Ivan Repušić he arranged works like »Les vêpres siciliennes«, »Manon Lescaut«, »Madame Butterfly«, »Don Carlo« and »Turandot«, conducted performances of »Don Pasquale« and with the Chamber Studio of the Zagreb Philharmonic brought Stravinsky’s »The Soldier’s Story« to a successful performance. Besides his work as a freelance conductor, such as for »The Merry Widow« in the Museum for Art and Crafts in Zagreb in 2017, he also worked as a pianist and an arranger and conducted the »Project Lazarus« ensemble with whom he gave several concerts in Zagreb, Šibenik and Split, as well as appearing at festivals in Venice and Vienna. Since September 2019 Darijan Ivezić has been under contract as solo coach and conductor with the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
