Cornelia Zink

Cornelia Zink comes from Ludwigsburg and received her singing education at the Salzburg Mozarteum from where she graduated in 2004 cum laude. She attended master courses with Sherrill Milnes, Barbara Bonney and Siegmund Nimsgern.

She made her debut at the Bad Ischl Operetta Festival as Christel in »Der Vogelhändler« while still a student and in subsequent years as Juliette in »Der Graf von Luxemburg« and as Adele in »Die Fledermaus«. Also while still a student, she made frequent guest appearances at Theater Augsburg.

From 2005 to 2014 she was a member of the ensemble of Staatstheater Cottbus where she sang parts like Musetta in »La bohème«, Valencienne in »Die lustige Witwe«, Laura in »Der Bettelstudent«, Cunegonde in »Candide«, Flaminia in »Die Welt auf dem Mond«, Despina in »Così fan tutte«, Zerlina in »Don Giovanni« and the Wagner roles of Helmwige (»Die Walküre«), Wellgunde (»Das Rheingold«) and Waldvogel (»Siegfried«). For her special achievements, this soprano was in 2006 decorated with the »Max Grünebaum Prize«. The highlights of her engagements in Cottbus included the title role in »Lucia di Lammermoor«, Antonia in »Hoffmanns Erzählungen« as well as Violetta in »La traviata«.

For the first time in 2008, Cornelia Zink made a guest appearance at Seefestspiele Mörbisch as Franziska Cagliari in »Wiener Blut« (directed by Maximilian Schell). At Schlosstheater Schönbrunn in Vienna the two CD full recordings of Ziehrer's »Die drei Wünsche« (2008) and Zeller's »Der Obersteiger« (2009) were recorded with Cornelia Zink in the main female roles.

In December 2012 Cornelia Zink made her debut at Hamburg Staatsoper as Adele in »Die Fledermaus« and could be heard there, among others as Gretel in »Hänsel und Gretel« and Blonde in »Die Entführung aus dem Serail«. In the summer of 2013 she returned to Seefestspiele Mörbisch and sang the role of Laura in »Der Bettelstudent«. In 2013/2014 she was for the first time a guest performer at Komische Oper in Berlin as Despina in »Così fan tutte« and in 2014-2015 interpreted the title role in »Die schöne Hellena« as well as Adele there.

In 2015-2016 she sang the role of Marianne in the German premiere of »Geschichten aus dem Wienerwald« at Komische Oper in Berlin and debuted as Cunegonde in Adam Cooper's new stage production of »Candide« at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
