Christian Gasteiger

Born in Bad Aibling, Christian Gasteiger began his professional career at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, where he trained as an event technician. In addition to numerous part-time jobs, the video technician worked for the Munich Residenztheater and for the Kammerspiele, for the Landestheater Salzburg and the Freie Bühne München, among others. He specialises in the development of interactive, generative and reactive programmes and installations, with a focus on real-time technology and interactive, reactive and generative works that emphasise pre-visualisation and various 3D animations. In 2020 he co-founded the video collective WE ARE VIDEO. Since 2017, Christian Gasteiger has been part of the video department of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where he co-created the visual effects for the interactive ballet performance »Salome tanz«, among other things.
