Christa Schneider

Christa Schneider, born in South Germany, trained as a singer at the Academy of Music in Munich. While she was still a student, she was engaged as a singer in the chorus at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where she also regularly appeared as a soloist. She worked on her vocal development with Felicia Weathers, Dietrich Schneider and Grace Bumbry, among others. She has made guest appearances in such roles as Micaela (»Carmen«), Pamina (»Die Zauberflöte«), Ottilie (»Im weißen Rössl«), Stasi (»Die Csárdásfürstin«) and Zeipoth (»Der Goggolori«). She has also regularly appeared in concerts and recitals, took part in the Munich Biennale and worked as a guest lecturer in Michigan (USA). Various television appearances singing opera and operetta melodies on NDR, performances on CD recordings and appearances as a singer in musicals demonstrate the vocal and musical breadth of this singer.
