Carl van Wegberg
Born in the Netherlands, Carl van Wegberg showed an early interest in music and initially learned to play the piano and clarinet. After training in the field of music management, he moved to the Fontys Academy of Dance in Tilburg to train as a performer in musicals. While he was still studying, he was engaged for »Tanz der Vampire« at the Apollo Theatre in Stuttgart, where his roles included Herbert. He later played parts including Marius (»Les Misérables«) at Berlin's Theater des Westens, Death and Rudolf (»Elisabeth«) back at the Apollo Theatre Stuttgart and on tour, Galileo (»We Will Rock You«) in venues including the Raimund Theatre in Vienna and Zurich's Theater 11, Lancelot, Galahad and Bedevere (Monty Pythonʼs »Spamalot«) at Cologne's Musical Dome, Fiyero (»Wicked«) at the Metronom-Theater in Oberhausen, Jack Favell (»Rebecca«) at Stuttgart's Palladium Theatre and Hieronymus Colloredo (»Mozart!«) at the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien.
He made his debut at the Gärtnerplatztheater in the first continental performance of »Chitty Chitty Bang Bang«, where he played also Caractacus Potts. He was further Prévan at the world premiere of »Gefährliche Liebschaften«, Thomas in »Jesus Christ Superstar«, Broadway-Singer in »Singinʼ in the Rain« and soloist in the concerts »Broadway for Kids« and »Christmas on Broadway«.
