Carin Filipčić

Vienna-born Carin Filipčić studied singing with Jack Poppell and received her musical training in Vienna and Prague. She has played roles such as roles such as Aldonza (»Man of La Mancha«) and Maria Magdalene (»Jesus Christ Superstar«) at the Graz Opera, Fantine and Madame Thénardier (»Les Misérables«) at the Musical Theatre Duisburg, Rizzo (»Grease«) in Basel, Maria Magdalene at the Musical Festival Bruck/Leitha, Sarah/Martha (»Company«) at the Vienna Chamber Opera, Melpomene (»Xanadu«), Madeline True (»The Wild Party«, German premiere), Miss Sherman (»Fame«) and Georgie (»The Full Monty«) at the Musical Summer Amstetten, Mrs. Lovett (»Sweeney Todd«) and Francesca (»The Bridges of Madison County«, German premiere) at the Trier Theatre, Martha (»The Secret Garden«) at the Frankenspiele Röttingen, Mrs. Fairfax (»Jane Eyre«) and Marian Halcombe (»The Woman in White«, German premiere) at the Musicalfrühling Gmunden, Emma Parker (»Bonnie & Clyde«) and Liliane LaFleur (»Nine«) at Bühne Baden and Mama Morton (»Chicago«) and Diana Goodman (»Next to Normal«) at Theater Magdeburg.

At the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien she performed the role of Amme in the German premiere of »Roméo et Juliette«, Baroness von Waldstätten and Cäcilia Weber in the world premiere of the musical »Mozart!«, was ‒ as later in the version at the Theater St. Gallen ‒ Mrs. van Hopper in the world premiere of »Rebecca«, Marie Gräfin Larisch in the German premiere of »Rudolf ‒ Affaire Mayerling«, Ludovika and Mrs Wolf in »Elisabeth«, Mathilde Ill in »Der Besuch der alten Dame«, Romy Edler in »I Am From Austria« and Grizabella in »Cats«.

Excursions into cabaret led Carin Filipčić to the Viennese cabaret Simpl in »Simpl Goes Music« and »Dinner for One ‒ Essen für Drei« at the Vindobona, among others. She toured Austria as Lola Blau in »Heute Abend: Lola Blau«. In addition to her work as a voice coach, she is also a much-booked concert singer. She can also be heard on numerous recordings.

At the Gärtnerplatztheater she first appeared on stage as Aldonza in »Man of La Mancha« and created the role of Madame de Volanges in the world premiere of »Gefährliche Liebschaften«.
