Ashley Holland
Ashley Holland received his musical training at the Royal Northern College of Music. This was followed by an engagement at the English National Opera, where he appeared as Germont (»La traviata«), Ford (»Falstaff«) and Sharpless (»Madama Butterfly«).
The English baritone has already made concert appearances at the BBC Proms, with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the SWR Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra Nationale de Lille, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
The high points of his career include Amonasro (»Aida«) in the Royal Albert Hall, the four villains (»Les Contes dʾHoffmann«) at the Komische Oper Berlin, Dr Schön (»Lulu«) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and the Welsh National Opera, Ford (»Falstaff«) at the Semperoper Dresden, Masetto (»Don Giovanni«) and Panthée (»Les Troyens«) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Enrico (»Lucia di Lammermoor«) at the Lyric Opera Chicago, Jack Rance (»La Fanciulla del West«) at the Frankfurt Opera and Mr Darling/Captain Hook (»Peter Pan«) at the Stuttgart Opera and Welsh National Opera. He worked with such conductors and directors as Mark Elder, Sir Andrew Davis, Johannes Erath, Christopher Alden, Sebastian Weigle, Kent Nagano, David Parry and Paul Daniel.
His more recent engagements include Mr Flint (»Billy Budd«) at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Messenger of Keikobad (»Die Frau ohne Schatten«) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Paolo Albiani (»Simon Boccanegra«) at the Opéra de Lyon.
